     John Krupp was born on 28 January 1822, in Kübelberg, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. He was the son of Charles Krupp and Catherine Schabacher. John Krupp was baptized on 4 February 1822 in Kübelberg, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. In 1833 John Krupp immigrated with Catherine Schabacher and Charles Krupp from Bavaria to Thompson, Seneca, Ohio, USA.1 While in his teens he served an apprenticeship of three years at the cabinet maker's trade at Tiffin, the first year receiving his board and $22 in money ; the second year receiving in addition to his board $32, that sum being increased the third year to $42.1 After working at his trade as a journeyman for a short time, he entered the employ of the Sandusky, Mansfield and Newark Railroad Company at Sandusky. This was in 1845. Mr. Krupp was associated with the railroad as a pattern maker for twenty-two years and two months. Resigning that position in 1870, he was engaged in the furniture and undertaking business at Sandusky until 1895 when he retired, being succeeded by his son, Chas. J. Krupp, who was already in partnership with him and his son- in-law, Henry T. Goebel.1 On Tuesday, 6 February 1849 in Thompson, Ohio, USA, at age 27, John Krupp married Katharina Simon, age 21, daughter of John Simon and Catherine (?). John died on 25 February 1911 in Sandusky, Ohio, USA at age 89.1 He was buried on 1 March 1911 in St. Mary's Cemetery in Sandusky, Ohio, USA.2
