Clementine Rieman was born in Krimpenfort, Niedersachsen, Germany on 18 May 1821.1 She was the daughter of John Rieman and Mary Schoene. She was baptized in Sankt Gertrud in Lohne, Niedersachsen, Germany on 21 May 1821. Godparents - Clementine Hoying and Johan Gerhard Dünhövet.1 Her baptism name was Clementine Johanna Riemann. Clementine Rieman emigrated with John Rieman and Mary Schoene in April 1832 from Vestrup, Vechta, Niedersachsen, Germany; The ship bringing the family to the U.S. landed in Baltimore. They traveled from Baltimore to Pittsburg on foot following a four mule team hauling their baggage. From Pittsburg, they traveled by boat to Cincinnati.2 Clementine Rieman, Mary Schoene, Mary Rieman and John Rieman were included in the indenture agreement signed by John Rieman in Bremen, Freie Hansestadt Bremen, Germany, on 14 April 1832. John Herman Rieman signed an indenture agreement to his brother-in-law, Johan Frederick Rohenkohl, on 14 April 1832. "John Herman Reiman, his wife and four children are indentured to Mr. John Fred. Rohenkohl, for 80 Bremen dollars (64 Spanish dollars) at 5% interest." This was the cost of their passage from Bremen to Baltimore/Cincinnati.3
