Christian's son Fidel came to US in 1851 with his son Karl, age 21 (known as Charles) and two females, Catherine, 18 and Marie 19, his daughters. We do not know what became of the girls but Charles married another German immigrant named Christiana Mayer and they lived in Philadelphia and then Norristown, PA.²

A PIONEER RESIDENT OF PERKINS TOWNSHIP PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Apolonia Herb-Kromer, beloved wife of Charles Kromer, passed away at her home in Perkins Township, Monday, November 2d, 1908, at 8 o'clock p.m., where she had lived continuously for 58 years. Aged 74 years, 10 months and 22 days. She has been ill for nearly a year. She leaves to mourn their loss, beside her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Charles Stoll of Sandusky, O., Mrs. Joseph Cecil, of Cleveland, O., Mrs. William hart of Sandusky, and Mrs. Stephen Ball of Cleveland, O; three sons, Albert of Margaretta, and Fred and Charles Kromer of Perkins, thirty-eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Amelia Kanzler of this city, and one brother Herbert herb of Perkins township. Burial will be made in St. Mary's cemetery. The funeral will be held from the family home in Perkins township Thursday at 8:30 a.m., Rev. J. S. Widman officiating. Sabastian Gunther.^4,5 In the Declaration before the Putnam County Probate Court dated April 3, 1869 Bernard A Lucke (umlatt over the U) stated that he first arrived in the U.S. in June 1866. He foreswears all allegiance to Frederick William, King of Prussia. He states that he is at the time of the declaration 34 years of age. He has a lovely signature (B. A. Lucke) with an upper loop on the B and an extra swirl on the A in his initials. On 24 May 1869 BA and Anna Lucke inherit 40 acres in section 16 of Ottawa Township from the Siefkers. This is Anna's dowery .⁶ Anton Bernard Lucke bought the north half of lot 40 in Ottawa Village on 19 October 1869. Anton is the head of a family on the 26 August 1870 Census in Ottawa, Ohio. Biography: Bernard Anthony Lucke and his two oldest children and their families moved from Ohio to Arkansas around 1898. Research indicates that the Catholic community in Arkansas in conjunction with the railroad was actively recruiting Catholic immigrants to Arkansas at this time. In any event, his wife and other children remained in Ohio. Anton Bernard Lucke was employed as a specialist in making paint (grind the pigment and mix the oils). According to Donald Lucke, his father (Ben Lucke, B.A.'s oldest son) told him the reason B. A. came to Pine Bluff was because the St. Louis Southwestern Railway located there in 1885 and Bernard was employed by them as a specialist at making paint. I have heard a similar story from cousin Frances Kolhoff. She said that B. A. worked in his family's ship-building business and he mixed the paint.⁹ He was listed as John Heising's father-in-law on the 1 June 1900 Census in Vaugine Township, Arkansas.¹⁰ Anton died on 6 August 1906 in Pine Bluff, Vaugine Township, Arkansas, USA at age 71. He was buried "Lucke, A.
