      Biography: He made wine in the basement and he loved to dance. Fidele Baude was born in 1871, in Courcelles, Walloon, Belgium. On Saturday, 19 February 1898 in Courcelles, Walloon, Belgium, Fidele Baude married Aurelia Prevost, daughter of Armand Prevost and Elise Benuit.1 In 1905 Fidele Baude and Aurelia Prevost immigrated from Courcelles, Belgiumto in Blairsville, Pennsylvania, USA. Fidele Baude and Aurelia Prevost were on the passenger list of the S.S. Zeeland to New York from Antwerp leaving on 9 September 1905 arriving on Sept. 19, 1905. Fidele is listed as a confectioner. Aurelia was very seasick and to keep her strength up a steward smuggled chicken soup to her so she could pass the physical at Ellis Island. They are heading for her brother's place in Blairsville. Also on this ship were Margarite E Baude and Charles A Baude.1,2 Fidele is the head of a family on the 10 May 1910 Census in Burrell, Pennsylvania. Fidele is a grinder in the glass factory.3
Biography: In 1913 they returned to Belgium, and were stranded in Belgium by WW I. Fidele worked for the resistance smuggling food into their area. They had a German soldier billeted with them. After Aurelia approached the German authorities and proved they were dual citizens, they were able to book passage back to America. They missed the ship's sailing and that ship was later bombed. They finally were able to leave on the SS Rotterdam.1 Fidele is the head of a family on the 12 January 1920 Census in Ross, Ohio.
