Aurelia Prevost was born in 1874, in Courcelles, Walloon, Belgium; She only weighted 3 pounds at birth and her cradle was a cigar box. Her parents consecrated her to the Virgin Mary to insure her survival and promised that she would wear only blue and white for the first seven years of her life. Which she did. She was very tired of blue and white by that time. Her mother was a seamstress. Aurelia vividly remembered that first brightly colored dress her mother made for her 8th birthday with ribbons interwoven in the design.1 She was the daughter of Armand Prevost and Elise Benuit. On Saturday, 19 February 1898 in Courcelles, Walloon, Belgium, Aurelia Prevost married Fidele Baude.1 As of 19 February 1898, her married name was Aurelia Baude (Prevost). In 1905 Aurelia Prevost and Fidele Baude immigrated from Courcelles, Belgiumto in Blairsville, Pennsylvania, USA. Aurelia Prevost and Fidele Baude were on the passenger list of the S.S. Zeeland to New York from Antwerp leaving on 9 September 1905 arriving on Sept. 19, 1905. Fidele is listed as a confectioner. Aurelia was very seasick and to keep her strength up a steward smuggled chicken soup to her so she could pass the physical at Ellis Island. They are heading for her brother's place in Blairsville. Also on this ship were Margarite E Baude and Charles A Baude.1,2
