Ancestors of Marcia Stephenson
     Robert Childers Jr was born in 1789. He was the son of Robert Childers and Nancy Pryor. On Saturday, 24 January 1818, Robert Childers Jr married Sarah Ann Landrum, daughter of John Landrum and Mary Collins. Robert Childers Jr and Robert Childers are is found on the Tax List of between 1821 and 1829 at in Grant, Kentucky, USA.1 In 1835 Robert Childers Jr lived; Robert had gone on a trip through Illinois with his friend and church brother, William Conrad, just to see the country. He liked it and the group of Baptists in Adams County where his relatives had settled. He did not like the infighting which at that time plagued the Williamstown, Kentucky Baptist Church. For this reason, when he returned from the trip to Illinois he made preparations to move his family there. Once arrived, however, he found the infighting had taken hold of the church in Adams County, so he again moved on, this time to Missouri and the area that is now Scotland County. On 17 August 1850 the Census listed Robert Childers Jr as the head of a family in Jefferson Township, Missouri, USA.2 He died before 1860 in Jefferson Township, Missouri, USA.

     Henry Childers was born in 1796. He was the son of Robert Childers and Nancy Pryor. On Tuesday, 18 July 1820, Henry Childers married Elizabeth Huffman, daughter of William Henry Huffman and Sarah Childers. Henry Childers died on 7 August 1846.
