Matyas Berecz, a tanner, purchased the property from Ferenc Xaver Grill on September 23, 1822 for 13,000 forints and the exchange of another piece of property. In the 1856 land census the street is referred to as Fo (Main) Street. The property extended to Perczel Street #11 and had two or three floors below ground. The house and tannery were in #6 King Street in Pecs. According to family history he had 12 employees.² Maté Berecz and Agatha Jaksich had 8 children between 1810 and 1824.
